Kindly refer to the subject cited above, in this regard the Government of the Punjab, School Education Department issued Notification vide No. SO(SE-REC)2-07/2025, dated September 16, 2026 in which it is stated that the Competent Authority has been pleased to allow to continue the School Teaching Interns (STIs), already engaged against the approved slots of 25,000 STIs in Primary, Elementary, High and Higher Secondary Schools in Punjab, on the same terms & conditions as mentioned in their respective letters of agreement w.e.f. 21.09.2026 to 31.05.2027.
The concerned Appointing Authorities are directed to immediately issue fresh letters of agreement to the STIs for the continuation of their service whose duration/term of internship expired on 31.05.2026, strictly on the same terms and conditions as contained in their earlier letters of agreement, for the revised duration of internship w.e.f. 21.09.2026 to 31.05.2027, subject to the fulfillment of following conditions:
- Their contracts were not terminated on account of any reason whatsoever;
- They had not resigned/left the post of STI prior to 23.05.2026 i.e. the date of expiry of their earlier term of internship.
All concerned officers and Head Teachers must ensure that these instructions are implemented and that the required letters of agreement are issued promptly to the eligible STIs. Strict compliance with the aforementioned Notification is compulsory.
